What's Changed on the 2017 Mazda6?

If just hearing the term "midsize sedan" puts a dull image in your mind, the Mazda6 could turn your thoughts around. Car Connection calls it an "evocative, sleekly styled sedan with some of the best road manners" of any vehicle in its segment, and other experts agree.

The 2017 Mazda6 in Phoenix gains several improvements that offer enhanced value, such as the introduction of G-Vectoring Control, a new Premium package and changes that boost cabin quietness. In addition, the optional i-Activsense safety suite leverages new camera technology that enables pedestrian detection and gives the car the ability to read traffic signs. Mazda6 Trims & Features

The Mazda6 is offered in three well-appointed trims, including the Mazda6 Sport, Mazda6 Touring and Mazda6 Grand Touring. In the cabin, the sedan receives an updated steering wheel with available heating capability and a new full-color TFT screen in place of the former gauge cluster display. A new Premium package (available on the Grand Touring) is a notable option that achieves a new level of opulence with heated rear seats, premium leather upholstery and eye-catching Japanese Chidori-style stitching on the steering wheel.

As for technology, the Mazda6 continues to deliver, offering features like a 7-inch touchscreen and rearview camera as standard equipment on base models with the optional automatic transmission. Things get even better when you choose higher trim levels, which come with great features such as remote start and blind spot warning.

Mazda6 Performance

Under the hood, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel shifters. This year, new G-Vectoring Control has been introduced to improve the sedan's driving dynamics and cornering ability, making the Mazda6 an even better sports sedan. The car is not too shabby when it comes to fuel economy either. In fact, Edmunds.com's 2017 Mazda6 review says its mpg ratings are "remarkable." According to the EPA, you'll get 26 city/38 highway mpg with the automatic transmission, 25 city/37 hwy with the manual, and 28 city/40 hwy if you opt for i-Eloop regenerative braking system on the Grand Touring.

No Sacrifices on Safety

The Mazda6 gets a lot of things right, and one of those things is safety. When you test drive a 2017 Mazda6 in Phoenix at our dealership in the Camelback Corridor, you'll get to see how systems like rear cross-traffic and blind-zone monitoring work. In addition, the sedan offers premium safety technologies like Smart City Brake Support, automatic crash notification and forward collision warning.
